My name is Sophie Duckworth, I live in Tottington and I am a passionate Illustrator/designer and I love experimenting with new techniques and materials in order to develop my skills.
I graduated from UCLan in 2014, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honours in Illustration. Previously I studied Interactive Media at Bury College.
Whilst at College, in 2011, I created card designs to win a live brief, set by Hallmark Cards, the prize was a two week work placement at the Hallmark design studios in Bradford.
Since graduating, I continued experimenting with my work, I had written and illustrated a Children’s book as my honours project and I got this printed and started selling it, online and in a local gift shop. At Christmas I released a set of Yuletide cards which sold well at craft fairs and online.
Since September 2015 I have been working as a Resource Technician at a School in Bolton, this is mainly photocopying and binding but I also enjoy designing flyers, logos and banners for the school as part of my role.
I am looking for an opportunity to continue to develop myself as a designer and do more of the design work that I love doing.
